Leather leggings, love them or hate them? I have to say they have really grown on me and I’ve added a couple pair to my wardrobe. When worn correctly, they can be quite chic! They need to fit tight through the leg–don’t buy any that fit baggy. They look great with basic pumps or cute booties. This look above with knee high boots was a little extreme–a lot of leather on the leg! I love to wear mine with long tops or over-size sweaters. I’m obsessed with the look of a basic white or gray V-neck tee paired with a blazer and leather leggings.
Leggings are typically ankle-length, and some are encase the feet. Some are shorter. Leggings are worn to keep a person’s legs warm, as protection from chafing during an activity such as exercise or as a decorative or fashion garment. Leggings are worn by both men and women during exercise but usually only by women at other times. In contemporary usage, leggings refer to tight, form-fitting trousers that extend from the waist to the ankles. In the United States, they are sometimes referred to as tights. However, the two words are not synonymous as the word tights refer to opaque pantyhose.
Shiny leggings, sometimes called leather-look leggings have a shiny, metallic, or wet-like appearance. They emerged as a popular fashion trend in the late-2000s, particularly in 2008 as reported by Style signal and other trend forecasters.
